WooCommerce Product Reviews: How to Get More

Social proof that converts

Product reviews increase conversion rates. Spiegel Research Center shows that products with five or more reviews have 270 percent higher conversion rates than products without. WooCommerce has reviews built in, but just enabling them isn't enough.

Built-in reviews

Under WooCommerce → Settings → Products: enable product reviews. Verify that only customers who purchased the product can review (prevents fake reviews). Enable star ratings.

Ask for reviews

Automatic email seven to fourteen days after delivery. "What did you think of [product name]?" with a direct link to the review form. Make it easy: one click to the form, not four steps. AutomateWoo, Mailchimp, or Klaviyo can trigger it automatically.

Incentives

10 percent discount on next purchase for a review. That's not bribery, it's a grateful gesture. Be transparent about it in the email. Most people are willing to write for 30 seconds for 10 percent off.

Display reviews right

Star ratings visible on category page (not just product page). Schema markup showing ratings in Google. Negative ratings aren't hidden, they're responded to. A company that responds professionally to a negative review inspires more trust than one with only five-star reviews.

Advanced plugins

Judge.me or YITH Advanced Reviews. Photo reviews (customer uploads photo), Q&A section, review reminders, import reviews from other platforms. Judge.me has a generous free version.

Every review is free content that improves SEO, increases trust, and drives conversion. Invest in collecting them.
